OTHER HUMAN IMPACTS
Fortunately, Denali National Park has not been subjected to many negative human impacts. There has been some minor deforestation which could become a problem in the future because Denali is a home to 169 species of birds that could lose their homes if too many trees are cut down. Occasionally, visitors to the park leave behind trash, which could become a more prominent issue as the number of visitors increases. The most significant problem caused by humans which is hurting Denali is not even taking pace in America; it is occurring in China. As China industrializes power plants, pollution coming across the Arctic Ocean from China is damaging Denali's air quality. Currently Denali's air quality is ranked highest in the US according to Federal Air Quality Monitoring, but this could easily change in the years to come. According to Andrea Blakesley, a Park Service Enviromental Specialist, "The pollution that we need to worry about more is coming from other countries." This statement clearly shows that we need to take action and contact other countries about these problems.
